Job Details
We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Trust & Estates Attorney to join our growing team. This role involves advising individuals and families on estate planning, trust administration, tax strategies, and wealth preservation. The ideal candidate has strong drafting and analytical skills, a deep understanding of probate and tax law, and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.

- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
- Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies, gift and estate tax issues, charitable planning, and business succession
- Administer complex estates and trusts, including probate proceedings, asset transfers, and fiduciary duties
- Represent clients in contested probate and trust litigation matters, as applicable
- Maintain client relationships and manage matters independently or in collaboration with team members
- Stay current with changes in tax law, estate planning strategies, and relevant state and federal legislation
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in North Carolina
- 3+ years of experience in trust & estates law (more for senior/partner-level roles)
- Proficiency with estate planning software and tax tools a plus
- Excellent drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills
- LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required
