In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our attorneys, including case management, legal document preparation, data entry, and client billing. Responsibilities:
- Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines.
- Assist with case management, including organizing and maintaining case files, tracking important dates, and managing case-related correspondence.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys as needed.
- Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Perform data entry tasks, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all entered data.
- Handle client billing, including preparing invoices and tracking payments.
- Record time entries for attorneys accurately and promptly.
- Communicate effectively with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of legal procedures and stay updated on the latest legal regulations and practices.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures, particularly in the area of trusts and estates.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Experience with client billing and time entry systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Paralegal certification is a plus.
