Job Details

Primary Responsibilities
  • Demonstrating an understanding of US tax concepts as they relate to US Personal and Corporate federal and state income tax compliance, including US income tax return review and preparation
  • Preparation and review of US personal and corporate tax returns for clients, including Forms 1040, 1040NR, 3520, 3520(A), 1120, 1120F, 5471, 5472, FBAR FinCen 114, and related schedules
  • Conducting federal and state tax research, thoroughly analyzing US cross-border tax issues and drafting technical memos related to specific client matters
  • Utilizing the Canada US Tax Treaty to determine filing positions for cross border clients
  • Interacting with the federal and state tax authorities to assist clients in resolving tax audits, notices and issues
  • Accountable for engagement planning with junior and senior staff members and scheduling as well as project profitability reports (i.e., budgets, WIP, timely billing)
  • Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reports

Skills And Experience
  • US CPA designation
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant US tax experience
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency. Quick learner, self-starter and exudes a “can do” attitude
  • Passion to learn and grow, and be an integral part of a high-performing team
