We are seeking a Fractional Vice President of Sales to provide strategic and operational leadership for a specialized cardiothoracic medical device portfolio.
This executive will lead sales initiatives focused on driving product adoption within cardiac surgery programs, expanding surgeon utilization, improving account penetration, and developing a high-performing commercial team.

What You'll Do
Sales Leadership & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives
- Identify high-value hospital systems, cardiac surgery programs, and key accounts
- Drive adoption of innovative surgical technologies among cardiac surgeons and clinical stakeholders
- Support complex sales opportunities and executive-level customer relationships
- Partner with field sales representatives during critical account conversion efforts
- Assist with clinical discussions involving surgeons and hospital decision-makers
- Address objections related to cost, clinical workflow, surgical outcomes, and adoption barriers
- Support key opinion leader (KOL) engagement strategies
- Recruit, coach, and mentor medical device sales professionals
- Develop onboarding and training programs
- Improve field effectiveness through structured coaching and performance management
- Support distributor and channel partner development where applicable
- Establish sales targets and performance expectations
- Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline visibility
- Monitor territory performance and resource allocation
- Analyze market opportunities and competitive positioning

Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of medical device sales experience
- Leadership experience managing sales teams, regions, or national commercial organizations
- Strong background selling into hospitals and healthcare systems
- Experience driving physician adoption of new technologies
- Understanding of healthcare economics and hospital purchasing processes
- Demonstrated success growing revenue and market share
- Cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Cardiac surgery device experience
- Surgical implant experience
- OR-based selling experience
- Experience working with surgeons, service line administrators, and supply chain teams
- Distributor management experience
