Job Details

Jobot client is seeking a Construction Inspector for water and sewer utility projects located in Charlotte, NC, and the surrounding region. The employee in this position will work with owners, contractors, third-party firms, and Job Client engineers to support the construction and commissioning of Jobot Client projects.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct on-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities.
  • Review and interpret project specifications and drawings to verify contractor compliance therewith.
  • Review contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams, consultants, owners, contractors, and third-party inspection/testing firms.
  • Prepare daily reports, verify material quantities, and review contractor pay applications.
  • Maintain construction-related documentation.
  • Travel to various project sites within a 2-hour drive of the Charlotte metro area

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant field construction experience, preferably in the water/wastewater/utility industry
  • B.S. degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Building/Construction Science, or an associate degree in engineering science is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Office, Procore, Primavera, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, and construction materials testing
Capable of reviewing and implementing project design plans and technical specifications
