Job Details
We are interested in a candidate that has the capacity to grow, is a quick learner, is detail-orientated, has critical thinking skills, is a committed team player, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. This position will support Civil and environmental engineering projects involving upland and in-water remediation, civil construction, waterfront development, source control evaluations, water quality assessments and compliance, and construction oversight. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work on a variety of tasks of differing complexities, both independently and in team environments, learn directly from leaders in the industry, and provide feedback and mentoring to our junior and senior staff.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, preferably with a focus in Water Resources, or closely related discipline
- 0-3 years of post-educational relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily
Responsibilities
- Be involved in projects with our Water Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges
- Takes part in providing local technical assistance for the analysis, development, and design of processes and infrastructure relating to water supply, stormwater facilities, irrigation facilities, culverts, hydrology, open channel hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, floodplain modeling/mapping, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, river/stream/habitat restoration and fish passage, pollution control and treatment, and preserving the quality of the environment by averting the contamination and degradation of water resources
- Generates accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and calculations using WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, ICPR and SWMM5, etc
- Process data using ArGIS and Excel
- Assist with report preparation
- Assist with various permit applications from regulatory agencies and prepare supporting documents
- Collect hydrological and water quality data on site
- Complete training on assigned tasks
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
