We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Defense Associate to join our legal team in California. The ideal candidate will be a California-barred attorney with experience or a strong interest in workers' compensation defense. This role involves managing a caseload, drafting legal documents, representing clients in administrative hearings, and providing strategic legal counsel to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.

The ideal candidate will be a California-barred attorney with experience or a strong interest in workers' compensation defense. This role involves managing a caseload, drafting legal documents, representing clients in administrative hearings, and providing strategic legal counsel to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on workers' compensation laws and claim strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and consultation.
- Attend settlement conferences, mediations, and negotiate resolutions on behalf of clients.
- Stay current on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations in California.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- Experience in workers' compensation defense is preferred, but candidates with a strong interest in the field will also be considered.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal communication and advocacy abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Client-focused approach with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
