Are you a dynamic, detail-oriented individual with a passion for law and a knack for juggling multiple tasks? We are seeking a seasoned legal assistant or paralegal with a focus on workers' compensation cases. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working on a diverse case load, and can effectively coordinate with insurance adjusters. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be bilingual in Spanish, with Polish speaking abilities being a preferred trait. If you have a deep understanding of legal documentation and writing, coupled with experience in plaintiff’s personal injury and workers’ compensation, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
As a Workers' Comp Legal Assistant or Paralegal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Managing a heavy case load, ensuring all documentation and processes are handled efficiently and in a timely manner.
2. Drafting routine motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence.
3. Reviewing and preparing legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal regulations.
4. Coordinating with insurance adjusters, maintaining open lines of communication and effectively negotiating settlements.
5. Preparing and compiling specials for insurance carriers, including itemized bills and medical records.
6. Assisting with administrative tasks, including client communication and managing schedules.
7. Providing support to attorneys in all aspects of workers’ compensation cases.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably within workers’ compensation.
2. Proficiency in legal documentation and writing, with a keen eye for detail.
3. Experience in managing a heavy case load, demonstrating excellent organizational and time management skills.
4. Proficiency in Spanish, with Polish speaking abilities being a plus.
5. Extensive experience in coordinating with insurance adjusters and understanding the nuances of insurance claims.
6. Proven ability to draft routine motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence.
7. Experience in plaintiff’s personal injury and workers’ compensation.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. A degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field is preferred.
