We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Estimator for our Multifamily division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall project estimation and cost management of multifamily construction projects, including apartments and condominiums. This is a permanent position that offers an opportunity to be a part of our highly skilled team, contributing to our growth and success in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for multifamily construction projects, from conceptual phase through the final construction documents.
2. Reviewing architectural plans and specifications to prepare a comprehensive "take-off" of quantities of materials required for the project.
3. Evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids for completeness and accuracy.
4. Working closely with project management teams to manage costs and ensure that projects stay within budget.
5. Developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
6. Providing ongoing cost management and updates throughout the project life cycle.
7. Participating in project meetings, providing updates on cost management and estimation.
8. Utilizing construction estimating software for cost data and project management.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a specific focus on multifamily projects such as apartments and condominiums.
2. Proven experience in project management, cost management, and bidding.
3. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
4. Ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications.
5. Proficient in construction estimating software and other relevant software applications.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
8. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
