We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Controller/CFO. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to work on various engagements for our CPA Firm. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial statement preparation and management, including experience in 990s, reconciliation projects, business advisory services, and the ability to manage multiple clients/projects. This role will be instrumental in growing our practice with a great team and offers work life balance (remote work).

Responsibilities:

As a Controller/CFO, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
2. Analyzing company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
3. Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
4. Developing and coordinating all relationships with lending/financial institutions.
5. Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
6. Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
7. Coordinating, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
8. Coordinating and/or preparing tax schedules, returns and information.
9. Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and requirements.
10. Overseeing the preparation and communication of weekly, monthly and annual financial statements.
11. Managing a book of 6-8 clients.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role.
3. Strong knowledge of 990, audit experience, Business Advisory Services, financial reporting, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
4. Proven CFO experience in a high-growth environment is highly desirable.
5. Strong understanding of regulations and standards related to corporate financial reporting.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
7. Strong analytical, strategic planning and communication skills.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
9. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
10. Public Accounting and non profit experience a plus
