Job Details

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the month-end close process.
  • Oversee the daily cash report and monitor cash flow.
  • Provide detailed and analytical explanations of variances between actual financial data and forecasts.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements, community performance, sales, production, and cost metrics to evaluate - property management and asset utilization.
  • Oversee weekly wire and ACH projections.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual division audit process.
  • Review and approve interim HUD statements.
  • Audit and approve bi-weekly payroll reports.
  • Manage and supervise the accounting team, including interviewing and recruiting new staff.
  • Oversee the processing of manual checks.
  • Verify monthly commissions and field bonuses.
  • Oversee the payables process to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the division president, supporting decision-making and improving division performance.
  • Manage construction indirect budgets and perform monthly analyses.
  • Lead the departmental budget review process.
  • Analyze and report on current financial and operational metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience (including 2+ in the home building industry)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and industry financial reporting best practices.
  • Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office suite, and especially Excel.
