The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal with a focus on immigration law and labor & employment matters. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in immigration law and labor & employment, with a strong understanding of visa processing, permanent residency applications, and legal document preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visa Processing: Handle the processing of non-immigrant visas, including but not limited to H-1B, B-1, L-1, F-1, E-2, O-2, P-1, R-1, and TN visas.
  • Permanent Residency Cases: Assist with permanent residency cases, including labor certifications, immigrant visa petitions, adjustment of status, and consular processing.
  • Visa and Permanent Residency Applications: Manage the processing of visas and attainment of permanent residency through investment, employment, and family-based applications.
  • Legal Document Preparation: Prepare documents for State, Federal Bankruptcy Court, and arbitration proceedings, including Motions, Notices, Summonses, Subpoenas, and Proofs of Claim.
  • Electronic Filing: Utilize electronic filing systems such as the Florida e-filing portal, all Florida District Court portals, all Florida bankruptcy portals, FINRA, and Simplifile e-recording.
  • Case Management: Handle service of process, calendar management, and overall case management duties.
  • Trial and Deposition Preparation: Assist in trial and deposition preparation, including subpoenas, document management, and summarizing medical and financial records.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research using platforms such as LexisNexis and WestLaw for court and official records, asset searches, and due diligence.
  • Discovery Pleadings: Manage document management and discovery pleadings, including propounding and responding to interrogatories and requests for production and admissions.
  • Correspondence and Communication: Draft, revise, finalize, and distribute correspondence, memoranda, agreements, contracts, legal documents, briefs, charts, and reports. Correspond with clients, courts, and vendors.
  • Priority Management: Prioritize matters based on urgency and respond efficiently, using initiative and judgment to minimize impact in a lawyer's absence. Refer matters to appropriate delegated authority as needed.
  • Special Projects: Undertake special projects as assigned by attorneys, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
