Based in Norwalk, we are a nationwide Mortgage Loan Service provider that is looking for a Collections Manager to join our fast growing team.

Ideal candidate will handle the daily duties of the Collection Department to ensure adherence to collection policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and client contract requirements. Manages collection staff to ensure all collection / Loss Mitigation timeline and delinquency goals are met and maintained.

Job Details

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage production activity and monitors final effects for completeness and accuracy ensuring service levels are met.
  • Manage collections staff.
  • Assign & maintain collection call queues.
  • Print monthly collection letters and late notices as needed.
  • Negotiate workout plans/forbearance agreements as needed.
  • Process foreclosure requests as needed.
  • Loan Modification Analysis and review as needed.
  • Complete staff evaluations.
  • Expertise in handling escalated delinquent accounts.
  • Jointly manage daily office activities including; minor building maintenance, IT requirements, etc.
  • Timely response to borrower inquiries.
  • Must be highly motivated and have proven supervision and leadership skills.
Creates an atmosphere within the organization that attains and maintains a high level of morale
  • Manages the department’s staff including appropriate employee evaluations that identify employee strengths and weaknesses; assures training and coaching to improve staff professional skills.
  • Directs and coaches staff as needed.
  • Proposes and then implements the annual department goals, and employee goals; periodically measures actual departmental/employee performance to the goals.
  • Assesses the developmental needs and career paths of staff and make recommendations for their advancement as appropriate.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years previous experience with extensive knowledge in mortgage servicing collection processes including foreclosures, bankruptcy, loan modifications, and collection call center management.
  • Minimum five years previous experience in a management capacity with direct reports.
  • A college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state collection regulations including the FACT ACT, CFPB, FCRA and FDCPA.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.
