Job Details

MUST HAVE -
+ Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
+ 5 or more years of progressive experience in multi-location/multi-state payroll administration
+ Experience with prevailing wages/certified payroll in a construction or similar environment preferred
+ Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting practices related to the payroll function
+ Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints, and interact professionally with others
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

RESPONSIBILITIES -
+ Assist with projects and tasks as assigned to support payroll/accounting functions
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, tax regulations, and company policy
+ Implement processes to build consistent, accurate and reliable payroll practices; make recommendations for enhancements and improvements to processes that create payroll efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve quality of service delivery
+ Prepare and update payroll policies and procedures to improve payroll processing capabilities and accuracy
+ Prepare and file weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll reporting (940, 941, state tax withholding etc.)
+ Oversee issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts according to established payroll cycles
+ Manage benefit audits (401k, Workers’ Compensation, etc.)
+ Maintain payroll-related general ledger accounts and reconcile within accounting system; resolve any discrepancies
+ Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability and nontaxable wages
