We are seeking a dynamic Permanent Property Accounting Manager to join our team in the Accounting + Finance industry. This role is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our rapidly growing commercial real estate business. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in retail accounting, monthly reporting, reconciliations, and shopping center operations. They should have a solid understanding of MRI software and commercial and CAM Reconciliations. This role requires at least five years of experience, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for real estate.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the property accounting department, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
2. Conduct monthly and annual financial reports for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties.
3. Perform CAM reconciliations and prepare annual tenant CAM reconciliations.
4. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
5. Review and analyze financial statements and reports, tracking financial performance against key business metrics.
6. Implement and maintain comprehensive financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability.
7. Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to ensure accurate billing and collection of tenant rents, CAM, and other property-related expenses.
8. Provide financial guidance on property acquisitions, lease agreements, and capital expenditures.
9. Maintain a thorough understanding of leasing terms, rent rolls, and property operating expenses.
10. Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or MBA is a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or related field, preferably in commercial real estate.
3. Proficiency in MRI software and CAM reconciliations.
4. Strong understanding of retail accounting and shopping center operations.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
6. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
7. Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Self-motivated, with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
