Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervises and coordinates shipping and receiving activities
  • Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work
assignments and shipping methods in order to meet shipping schedules.
  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency by:
  • Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries
  • Allocating and recording resources and movements systematically
  • Oversees shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • May assist workers in shipping and receiving activities.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Authorizations
  • Authorized to sign in accordance with company financial authorization limits.
  • Authorized to spend approved CAPEX and budgeted expenses in accordance with financial authorization limits.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position manages employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.

Education and/or Experience
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information where required.
  • Knowledge of general computer programs including Microsoft Office products, email and the Internet.
  • Understand, abide and enforce safety guidelines and quality processes as required.
  • Proficient in shipping receiving discipline and has ability to train and direct others.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Knowledge of DOT requirements.
  • 5+ years of shipping/receiving experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience acting in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Commercial driver’s license with hazmat endorsement.
