Job Details

Provide guidance, direction, and training to internal and external sanitors, including setting safety and performance standards.
Manages implementation of company sanitation policies and safety measures.
Adhere to the steps of sanitation and monitoring performance.
Create cleaning procedures, documentation, and train employees on procedures.
Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
Record materials used and test results in sanitation logs, allergen and master sanitation schedule (MSS).
Review daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation logs and records.
Conducts regular meetings on sanitation activities and company initiatives.
Investigate internal / external complaints about department and take corrective action.
Works with maintenance on equipment issues and repairs impacting the sanitation process/success.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces GFSI (SQF), OFSS, cGMP and Safety regulations.
Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Work with chemical supplier representative on employee training, SSOP, MSS.
Be part of the interview process of new internal sanitation employees.
Participate in DI Food Safety Audit Team, OFSS, Safety.
Complete work list generated by Food Safety Audit and External Audit systems.
Participate as needed in external plant audits (SQF, FDA, WIDATCP, Customer).
Perform cleaning activities of workers supervised as needed.
Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience

Requires a minimum of two years prior experience in the food industry and / or sanitation.
Proven leadership skills.
3-5 years progressively responsible experience. Within a food company is preferred.
