Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Toxic Tort Attorney to join our growing team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on high-profile cases, develop your career, and make a significant impact in the complex toxic tort & environmental industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in handling toxic tort or asbestos cases. You must have a passion for justice, a commitment to client service, and a strong understanding of the legal and scientific complexities involved in toxic tort law.
Responsibilities:
1. Representing clients who have been exposed to toxic substances, especially asbestos, and have suffered health complications as a result.
2. Conducting extensive research to build strong, evidence-based cases.
3. Drafting, reviewing, and filing legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
4. Negotiating settlements with opposing counsel, insurance companies, and other parties.
5. Advocating for clients in court, presenting evidence, and arguing cases persuasively.
6. Staying up-to-date on the latest developments in toxic tort law and science to provide clients with the best possible representation.
7. Collaborating with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and other professionals to ensure all case-related tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
8. Providing clients with regular updates on their case status and answering their questions in a clear, compassionate manner.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Toxic Tort Attorney position, you must meet the following qualifications:
1. J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the California state bar.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in toxic tort law, with a focus on asbestos cases.
4. Proven track record of successfully representing clients in toxic tort cases.
5. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
6. Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
7. Ability to handle a large caseload and work under pressure.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
9. Familiarity with the scientific concepts related to toxic exposure and related health effects.
10. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
